British Aikido Association

The British Aikido Association was founded in 1966 in order to promote and maintain the ethical and technical standards of Tomiki Aikido in the United Kingdom. Today, the BAA comprises of sporting, traditional, and self-defence streams which allows a student to study a variety of Aiki methodologies.

The BAA has a formal grading syllabus and promotion structure for each stream of practice and a student is free to grade in any one of them. This allows for a considerably open association where anyone is welcome regardless of affiliation or style of Aikido.
