Aikido Practice

“Look for the similarities in the techniques rather than differences”.  It is important to understand that Aikido is Aikido, it is only style and personality that make a technique look different, the basics should be the same regardless of the system of Aikido you practice.

The information contained on these pages are some of the principles and practices which are taught in the Meikyokai Dojo.  We are very open in our practice to new ideas and training methodologies with the sole aim to improve our own Aikido regardless of affiliation.

Therefore, please read the documents within these pages as hopefully it will give you a feel to the type of Aikido that we practice, and if you would like to discuss please contact us at info@meikyokai.com.

These pages are and always will be a work in progress, however, there are two comprehensive books on Tomiki Aikido by the Meikyokai Chief Instructor Neil Saunders should you wish to know more, these being:

Aikido - The Tomiki Way

Tomiki Aikido

Furthermore, a DVD is now available on the Koryu Dai San which can be obtained from  here:

Tomiki Aikido - Koryu Dai San

If you would like to bulk buy any of the above please contact us at info@meikyokai.com to obtain more information.
