Meikyokai Dojo: Practice and Principles

These web pages lay out the principles and practices at the Meikyokai Dojo.  We believe in them and their practical application 100%.  But that doesn't mean they are the only way or necessarily the best way; they are just our way!

Read what we do and how we do it with an open mind.  If there is something you'd like to talk about then feel free to contact us as info@meikyokai.com. We are always looking for ways to improve our Aikido!

Hopefully you'll find some information that makes you think about what you do and how you do it - if this is the case then let us know about this too!

The information on these pages is a work in progress and will build up over the coming months and years.  The aim is to provide a comprehensive online guide that helps people practice and develop their Aikido more effectively.

The web pages are text-based at present but the aim is to introduce images to illustrate the points and principles raised.

Hint: Look for the similarities in all your Aikido practice rather than the differences; look for the similarities between the basic movements.  Once you see the similarities in the basics you will then be better equipped to see the similarities in the execution of the vast majority of techniques.  There aren't as many differences as you might think!
